Scent-Free Space:
At CF BECC, we have a scent-free policy. Many people are extremely sensitive to perfumes, colognes, aftershaves and other scented products. For the comfort of all our members, we ask that you refrain from wearing scented products when you come and train at the gym.
Training
Sign-Ups & Sign-In:
Sign-up before classes using the Team Up member app or online. You are able to reserve classes 1-month in advance. Sign-Ups are not required, however, if you do not sign-up and the class is at capacity you will not be able to attend.
Cancelling Reservations: if you are unable to attend a class you have reserved make sure to cancel your reservation. If the class you reserved is full, and you do not cancel your reservation, wait listed members will not be able to attend the class. You have until 1 hour before class to cancel.
Open Gym: athletes using the facility for only open gym must be approved by a coach first. Athletes taking classes may also do open gym. If the gym is open, you may come in for open gym. However, when a session is on (e.g. CrossFit Class in the main room), that session has the room booked. If you wish to use the space during a session you MUST check in with the coach.
Dogs & Kids
Dog Etiquette
If you are bringing your dog to the gym, make sure you enter before your dog (do not let the dog run in first).
During Open Gym, if someone is training, ask them before you take the dog off the leash.
During class times, the dog must be tied up.
Only use dog balls for dogs (not other balls—we use those for mobility)
Children
If you bring your kids to the gym, make sure they stay in the lounge while members are training.
You are responsible for cleaning up after your kids (snacks, toys, etc.)
Memberships
Payments: we require a credit card or some form of automatic payment on file for all memberships. Memberships are billed on the day of the month they started on a recurrent monthly basis.
Membership Holds: we can place a hold on your membership if you are going to be away for medical or work related reasons.
Membership Cancellations: We require 30-days notice for all membership cancellations.
10 Class Packs: are valid for 60 days from the sign-up date.
Discounts: we offer a number of discounts (student, couples, first responders and military). Memberships are only eligible for one type of discount.
Private Training (IDP Programs, and on-ramp)
ETIQUETTE
We are all about community. In order to cultivate the best possible community we ask all members to abide by our gym etiquette. We have found that good gym etiquette simply comes down to respect. For each other, the coaches, and the space. The specifics on each are listed below.
RESPECT – EACH OTHER, THE COACHES, AND THE SPACE
Respect Each Other
Know Each Other: you are expected to know the other people in your session. If there is a person in the session you have never met, introduce yourself. If there is a new member, make them feel welcome.
“No one is done until everyone is done”: show support to your fellow athletes when they are pushing hard during a workout or going for a new personal record (PR). In line with this, do NOT clean up your equipment until everyone is done the workout. You train together, push each other, and clean up as a group.
Give Space: do not walk in front of other athletes while they are lifting. It is distracting, dangerous, and disrespectful. If an athlete is going for a heavy set, give them space and cheer them on.
No Gossip: gossip is a cheap way to make conversation. If you have a legitimate issue with someone let them know or talk to a staff member and they will deal with it. If you want to complain about someone at the gym, this gym is not for you.
Respect the Coaches
Listen: when a coach is providing instruction, listen. If you are talking, the coach will wait for you to finish.
Let Coaches Coach: do not provide coaching to other members during the session times. The only exception to this is if another member asks for your input on something, feel free to share information.
Let the Coaches Scale: if you come in and would like to do a modified version of the workout, make sure to check with your coach about appropriate scales. Athletes should not make their own scales.
Respect the Space and Equipment
Clean Up: when you are finished training put your equipment away. If you bleed, clean it up. If you take something from another room, put it back. Wipe down rowers and bikes once finished with them. Do not spray rower or bike monitors with water (it can damage them).
Do Not Drop Equipment: unless it is a safety reason, do not drop empty bars, kettlebells, or any other equipment. The only exception to this is bumper plates, they are designed to be dropped.
Put the Handles Back Nicely: when you are finished rowing, make sure to place it back against the cage nicely.
Watch Your Ropes: Avoid hitting your jump ropes on bars, kettlebells, or the rig. When the rope hits anything but the floor it wears away at the cable and decreases the longevity of the rope.
No Headphones: headphones take away from the community at CrossFit BECC.
Clear Your Space: leaving equipment on the floor around where you are dropping weights is dangerous for you and those around you. Make sure to clear all equipment from the area you are lifting so that there is no chance your bar can hit it.
Ask About Music: The coach who is leading the session is the only one who should touch the music. If you would like something else on, ask them to change it.
