Recreational  and Competitive Gymnastics Coach

I started Crossfit about 4 years ago, fell in love with the workouts right away as it incorporates so many gymnastics skills.  It is a way for me to keep in shape and still practise my skills.  Over the past few years I have become stronger and more proficient with weightlifting, focusing on proper technique and form.

My favourite benchmark or Hero WOD are Cindy and Filthy Fifty.  I love bodyweight/gymnastics WODs and seem to excel more with these types.

Gymnastics was my main sport growing up and began at the age of 3.  I competed provincially until I was 12 when I started the Coach-in-Training program and at the age of 16 took my NCCP level one Artistic Gymnastics certification.

Although gymnastics was my main extracurricular sport I also did ballet and highland dancing.  I was an all-around athlete in school sports as gymnastics had built such a strong foundation for me.  I loved Track & Field (sprinting) and volleyball but also played soccer, basketball, badminton and later in life baseball. I competed in a Masters Gymnastics Competition when I was 36 and still train consistently in gymnastics.

Coaching has been and is my life!  My career is in coaching and running Brockville Gymnastics Academy, where I work full time running numerous programs as the Club Director.

I am a strong believer in physical fitness and activities for today’s youth and feel my experience, personality, knowledge and mindset can help others achieve their goals and perhaps realize that fitness is key to a healthy lifestyle and well-being.
