I started CrossFit in 2016 to shake up my fitness routine and to step out of my
comfort zone. I keep doing CrossFit for strength, health, confidence, happiness,
stress relief, and the wonderfully rewarding feelings of accomplishment and
empowerment. And of course CrossFit BECC has an amazing welcoming, supportive,
and boisterous community.
My favourite WODS are those with deadlifts and kettlebell swings, but I love the
technicality of Olympic lifts and enjoy working on my technique. I struggle the most
with metcon workouts involving running, wall balls, and thrusters, but am glad when
they come up because I know the only way to get better at something is to work on
I am constantly inspired by the courage I see in other athletes when they try new
things, and their perseverance to reach achievements they didn’t think possible.
Coaching allows me to support all athletes as they discover and strengthen these
qualities in themselves. Ultimately, I want everyone to feel all the good feels you
can get from CrossFit.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences from the University of Western
Ontario, am certified in First Aid and CPR, and Zumba.
Little nugget: Sometimes I want to give it all up and become an eccentric billionaire
who owns sloth sanctuaries around the world where I cuddle sloths, take afternoon
naps, and eat fruit slowly in the sun.
